Start Application!Jon Kay was working as a quantity surveyor when life-changing losses in his family led him to pursue a new purpose and meaning. His beloved Labrador Loki inspired him to start a business centered around helping dogs and their owners live happy, balanced lives. In 2016, Kay founded Camp Tails, a doggy daycare dedicated to enriching the lives of dogs.
Camp Tails has since grown from 1 to over 20 staff members, creating jobs and building a community. They have won several awards, including Best New Startup at the Bury Free Press Business Awards and being highly commended in the National Apprenticeship Employer of the Year category. Camp Tails aims to further educate local dogs and owners, with plans to open a new location and become a leader in dog care services.
Despite turbulent times, Camp Tails has achieved continued growth and success. They have set up community programs helping local businesses, dog owners, and government organizations. Jon says, “We are dedicated to making dogs happy, providing them a safe and nurturing environment to play, socialize, and receive expert care from our staff.”
Camp Tails and Jon Kay have been selected as finalists for the 2023 Great British Entrepreneur Awards, known as “The Grammys of Entrepreneurship.” The awards ceremony will be held at London’s Grosvenor House on November 20th.
