Frustrated by the lack of trustworthy information on product labels, restaurant menus and online, Sandford saw an opportunity to develop the technology and partnerships required to map the entire food ecosystem.
In just six years, nuUnlimited has created the world’s first farm to fork food data platform, enabling hospitality, healthcare and catering businesses to share the full provenance and nutritional details of their meals with customers. Their ground-breaking solution launched in January 2023 and quickly won over twice the number of clients they had targeted, including the NHS and prestigious food brands across the UK.
With momentum building, nuUnlimited now has its sights set on expanding into the US and European markets from 2025. “We could not get trustworthy food information and knew that was a huge problem for many. Our goal is to connect everyone, everywhere to the accurate and complete story of their food,” says Sandford.
Thanks to their pioneering vision and passion for empowering businesses and consumers with the truth about what we eat, Tim Sandford and the team at nuUnlimited have been selected as finalists in the 2023 Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Dubbed “The Grammys of Entrepreneurship,” the awards celebrate the hard work and inspiring stories of British business owners.
