In 2014, after the sale of his company he co-founded, Adelsbach began investing with the goal of backing the best and brightest fintech entrepreneurs across the UK. A decade on, he invests personally and via Outrun Ventures and has backed some of the UK’s leading fintech startups, helping to launch the careers of visionary founders building the future of finance.
Adelsbach began his venture career working with Techstars, where over five years he worked with Barclays Bank and Techstars to help build their UK accelerator program into a powerhouse for fintech innovation. He saw firsthand how access to funding and mentorship could transform startups, and launched Outrun Ventures to provide that same opportunity to ambitious fintech founders.
Chris has already achieved massive success, backing fintech leaders like Marshmallow, Atom Bank, Smart Pension, Monese, Cuvva, Kuda Bank, and Griffin Bank as a ‘first cheque investor’. In 2022, Business Insider recognized Adelsbach as the top seed investor in Europe based on his investment track record of success. Chris has no plans of slowing down. His vision is to continue investing in the next generation of fintech visionaries, providing the support they need to build, scale, and exit their companies.
