At just 18 years old, Ricki is no stranger to depression, this experience later coupled with the everyday challenges of balancing work and family life, led Ricki to develop his own method of self-care through lighting a candle, reflecting on his problems, and generating solutions before blowing out the flame. This ritual of contemplation and mindfulness served as the inspiration for BEMAN Candles.
Launched on International Men’s day in 2022, BEMAN Candles has already received widespread acclaim, winning awards for Best Artisan Candle Producer 2023 and the Entrepreneurs Rising Star Award. This is a remarkable achievement and testament to Ricki’s vision, passion, and perseverance in building BEMAN Candles into a thriving wellness brand.
Looking ahead, Ricki plans to continue growing the BEMAN Candles community by promoting self-reflection and awareness in men as foundations for personal growth and development. By sharing his own experiences with mental health struggles and the tools he’s developed to overcome them, Ricki is helping to end the stigma around these issues and empower men to prioritise their own well-being.
