After years working in recruitment for the Job Centre and mainstream agencies, Matthew followed his ambition to start his own business. In 2016, he founded Candour Talent, a recruitment agency based in South Wales that helps local businesses fill temporary, contract and permanent positions.
Despite having no outside funding or support when he started, Matthew grew Candour Talent into a £10M company in just a few short years through his drive and determination. The company has won multiple awards, including the prestigious Great British Entrepreneur Award in 2022, recognising Matthew’s inspiring journey to build a successful business from humble beginnings.
With ambitious plans for the future, Candour Talent is expanding across the UK, opening new offices to keep up with increasing demand. The company has also secured contracts with large national clients, allowing for significant growth in the coming years.
Matthew Burkitt and Candour Talent have been selected as finalists for the 2023 Great British Entrepreneur Awards, known as “The Grammys of Entrepreneurship,” which will be held at London’s Grosvenor House on November 20th. The awards recognise the UK’s most innovative and disruptive entrepreneurs.
